Toddler Program FAQs

Who Provides Food?

Each child should bring food from home for all of their meals while they are at school. A feeding plan will be discussed at length with the classroom teacher before the child begins school, and we will communicate with the parents as the child grows and his feeding patterns change. We do have solid food snacks available for the children that are able to eat them; this is generally a fruit or vegetable and a grain. A refrigerator, microwave, and storage for formula and food are available.

Who Provides Diapering Supplies?

We ask that parents provide diapers, wipes, and any ointments from home. Each child has storage space of their own for storing these items so they can be brought in bulk, rather than daily.

How do you communicate with parents?

Parent communication is always a focus for us, but it is especially important before children are verbal. We will hold formal conferences throughout the year, but encourage daily communication between the parent and teacher. We strive to keep a consistent environment between home and school.

What is the student:teacher ratio?

We follow state guidelines regarding for the youngest child in our class, a 6:1 ratio. We are constantly evaluating the makeup of the students in the class and maintaining a balance that allows the teacher to give her full attention to the students, hence we often choose to have a lower student:teacher ratio.
